Fatal semi wreck, Battleford, Sept. 24, 2004. Driver likely fell asleep at the wheel and missed the turn at the overpass at the Highway 4 / Highway 16 interchange just south of the Battlefords Bridges. The B-train semi loaded with concrete slabs jumped the rail and crashed into the opposite embankment. Battlefords News-Optimist/Brian Zinchuk
"If it moves, shoot it." - Brian Zinchuk
Brian's first news photos were taken in grade 12, for the Yorkton This Week. Since then, he's honed his skills to always get the shot, no matter what it takes. You'll find him lying on the ground, climbing on chairs, or holding his camera at the end of a monopod. "A big lens hanging on your neck will either get you in, or get you out, real quick," he says.
Brian's news photography really took off in 2003, when he bought his first digital camera, a Fuji S2 Pro. Between that camera and his Nikon, Brian's shot over a quarter million photos over the past five years. Battlefords News-Optimist
