Portrait/Commercial Photography:
When Uncle Bob just won't do
Most of Brian's portrait work has been in the wedding field, but occasionally he's asked to do some family photos or other portraits.
Everything is shot on location, using either natural lighting, or with a full mobile studio lighting setup.
Commercial photography falls in this category, and will be an expanding part of the business down the road.
Brian's work with the Battlefords News-Optimist included the annual Progress Edition, which would have reporters dispatched to write and shoot ad copy for local businesses. After his first year doing this, many clients strongly preferred he be assigned to their stories, and take the photographs. One example, done for a small but growing welding shop, had the owner tell the sales person they had more business from that one full page ad than all their previous advertising to that point.
Brian's commercial style usually incorporates some elements of what the people or business do. If you hire him, expect to be climbing all over your iron, or to see him up on a ladder to get the shot. There's not a lot of 'line 'em up, shoot 'em down.'
He has done some catalogue work for Blue Rentals in North Battleford, a party supply rental shop. It can be found here.
While Brian has shot many weddings in recent years, he now prefers to focus on other lines of photography, and does not anticipate taking any wedding bookings in the near future. However, you can see some recent wedding samples below.
